The cryptocurrency is still struggling to break $50,000, a mark achieved last week before a significant drop in prices on Sept 8. There are rising concerns over bitcoin's environmental impact following the results of analysis by economists from the Dutch central bank and MIT, according to which one bitcoin transaction generates the same amount of electronic waste as throwing away two iPhones.
