Chimera Investment Corporation Review Post Q3 Results

Chimera Investment Corporation (NYSE:CIM) reported its Q3, with EPS coming in at $0.42, above the consensus estimate of $0.37. Favorable loan pricing drove meaningful book value accretion in the quarter. Management continues to believe seasoned RPLs represent an attractive investment opportunity. Strong housing market fundamentals remain supportive of favorable mortgage credit performance.

Analysts at RBC Capital raised their 2021 EPS estimate to $1.68 (from $1.62), following the Q3 EPS beat, and its 2022 EPS is being adjusted to $1.52 (from $1.48). The brokerage increased its price target on the company’s shares to $18 from $16.
