India Wants to Tax Crypto Income at 30%

While presenting the federal budget on Tuesday, Nirmala Sitharaman, Indian Finance Minister, proposed taxing income for cryptocurrencies at a 30% rate. According to the proposal, any income from the transfer of any virtual digital asset will be taxed at a 30% rate, with no deduction in respect of any expenditure or allowance permitted while computing the income, except the cost of acquisition.
