Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE:OSK) announced its preliminary results for Q4/21, expecting quarterly revenue of approximately $2.05 billion and adj. EPS in the range of $0.90-0.95, well below the Street estimate of $2.11 billion and $1.79, respectively. The EPS estimate was also below the company’s Q4 guidance of $1.65-1.80.
According to the brokerage, the negative preannouncement was not a surprise as it was driven by significant supply chain and logistics disruptions as well as material and freight cost inflation.
The unavailability of parts has impacted the company's production, particularly in Access Equipment, and also contributed to labor inefficiencies. While the company expects its price actions to offset cost inflation, this will not begin to show up in the numbers until the second half of 2022.
