Analysts at RBC Capital updated their estimates on Chimera Investment Corporation (NYSE:CIM) post Q2 results, reported earlier this month. Quarterly EPS came in at $0.31, worse than the Street estimate of $0.33.
According to the analysts, the securitization market could improve in H2 as mortgage supply is constrained. Positively, the company repurchased shares in the quarter. Despite the recent increase in mortgage rates, housing fundamentals remain solid and the mortgage credit outlook remains favorable.
The analysts lowered their 2022 EPS estimate to $1.37 from $1.43, and their 2023 EPS estimate to $1.35 from $1.41. The analysts reiterated their outperform rating and $11 price target on the company’s shares.
