The Boeing Company (NYSE:BA) reported its Q4 results, with adjusted EPS coming in at ($7.69), significantly worse than the consensus estimate of ($0.42). Revenue was $14.79 billion, again missing the Street estimate of $16.59 billion.
The company took a $3.5 billion charge on the 787 program with $285 million of abnormal costs in the quarter. The company now estimates total abnormal costs on the program of around $2 billion, with cash outlays through 2023. The company has not provided more guidance on when it expects 787 deliveries to resume, but it appears that mid-2022 is now a reasonable assumption.
The company continues to guide to positive FCF in 2022, and the positive $500 million in Q4/21 FCF is encouraging.
