Virgin Galactic Holdings Inc (NYSE:SPCE) shares jumped more than 47% intra-day today after the announcement of its upcoming launch of a commercial space tourism service.

The company revealed that its first space flight, named "Galactic 01," is scheduled to take place between June 27 and June 30. This flight will include three crew members from the Italian Air Force and the National Research Council of Italy.

Additionally, the company plans to conduct a second flight in early August, followed by monthly flights in the future.
