Mixed Signals in Asia: Asian markets lacked a clear direction on Wednesday, with caution prevailing ahead of key interest rate announcements.

Global Cues: Regional stocks mirrored some gains on Wall Street, fueled by recent weak U.S. economic data that hinted at potential future interest rate cuts by the Federal Reserve. However, focus remains on upcoming U.S. jobs data for further guidance.

Japan Stumbles on Wage Concerns: Japan's Nikkei 225 and TOPIX indices fell sharply. This drop stemmed from data revealing a stronger-than-expected rise in average cash earnings in April.

Wage Growth, Policy Tightening: Higher wages align with the Bank of Japan's (BOJ) inflation forecasts, potentially prompting them to tighten monetary policy. This could include scaling back bond purchases next week, creating headwinds for Japanese stocks.

Beyond Wages: Other data points presented a mixed picture for Japan's economy. While wage growth surged, the services sector contracted more than anticipated in May.
