Cytokinetics develops treatments for heart disease, including Myqorzo for symptomatic obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Executive vice president of research and development Malik Fady Ibraham sold 3,500 shares at $64.01 each on October 20, 2026, for about $224,035.00. He retained 153,902 shares.
The sale comes as Cytokinetics expands Myqorzo’s reach. More than 700 U.S. healthcare providers had prescribed the drug as of June 30, and over 80% of dispensed prescriptions were paid. Management estimates that Myqorzo accounted for more than 40% of new-to-brand prescriptions in its market at the end of the second quarter.
As highlighted by GlobeNewswire, Health Canada approved Myqorzo for certain adults with symptomatic obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. The drug also has a launch in Germany and authorization in the U.K. Cytokinetics plans to seek approval for another form of the disease in the fourth quarter of 2026.
Cytokinetics is also issuing shares as employee compensation. As highlighted by GlobeNewswire, it granted 29 new employees options to buy 60,465 shares at $63.92 each and 40,084 restricted stock units on October 15. The units become available to employees over three years, provided they remain with the company.
Cytokinetics’ trailing price-to-earnings ratio is -8.87, reflecting a net loss rather than a profit. Its trailing price-to-sales ratio is 125.29, meaning the share price values the company at more than 125 times its recent annual sales. These figures provide context for the sale but do not establish why Malik sold his shares.
