WisdomTree Japan Hedged Equity Fund (AMEX: DXJ) Announces 1-for-3 Stock Split

  • The WisdomTree Japan Hedged Equity Fund (AMEX: DXJ) is scheduled for a 1-for-3 reverse stock split on October 9, 2026.
  • A stock split changes the number of shares an investor owns but does not alter the total value of their investment.
  • Japanese equities, including the Nikkei 225, recently rallied, influenced by U.S. economic data, following a period of decline due to rising oil prices and bond yields.

WisdomTree Japan Hedged Equity Fund (AMEX: DXJ) is scheduled for a 1-for-3 stock split on October 9, 2026. Under the stated terms, every three shares become one share. DXJ is an exchange-traded fund focused on Japanese stocks, so changes in Japan’s market matter to investors who hold it.

The split changes the number of shares an investor owns, but it does not by itself change the total value of that holding. For example, an investor with three shares before the split holds one afterward. The share price would adjust to reflect the smaller number of shares, assuming no other price change.

Japanese stocks rallied ahead of the scheduled split. The Nikkei 225 rose 2.5% above 70,000 to a three-month high as weaker U.S. hiring data reduced expectations of a Federal Reserve rate hike. Employers added 29,000 jobs in September, compared with expectations of about 90,000, as highlighted by Invezz. The report did not give a DXJ price move.

The rally follows a September 29 decline, when the Nikkei 225 fell about 1.2% to 65,070.58 and the broader Topix lost about 1.8%. Higher oil prices and bond yields raised concerns about borrowing costs. The U.S. 10-year Treasury yield briefly exceeded 5.27%, while Brent crude traded near $106.60 a barrel, as highlighted by Invezz.
