Nuveen Preferred & Income Securities Fund offers a high level of current income with a 7.34% yield, higher than money market funds. The fund has experienced disappointing performance, with shares down 2.66% since July, but distributions have offset some losses. The fund's asset allocation is more heavily weighted towards bonds than preferred stocks, which may be a strategy to preserve capital in the event of further rate hikes.
