FMP and TipRanks Join Forces to Bring Professional Analyst Intelligence to Your API
FMP has partnered with TipRanks to integrate one of the world's leading analyst intelligence platforms directly into the FMP API - giving developers, independent investors, and financial teams access to Wall Street analyst coverage
What This Partnership Means for You
Analyst ratings and price targets have long been a cornerstone of professional investment research. Until now, accessing this data in a structured, developer-friendly format required separate subscriptions, manual aggregation, or expensive data feeds.
Through our partnership with TipRanks, FMP users can now tap into a rich layer of analyst intelligence - recommendations, price targets, consensus summaries, and analyst performance profiles - all available via the same API they already use for financial statements, market data, and company fundamentals.
What's Now Available
The TipRanks integration adds seven new endpoints to the FMP API:
Analyst Ratings Search Query analyst recommendations and price targets with flexible filters by symbol, analyst, or date range. Each result includes the analyst's name, firm, recommendation type, action taken, and both adjusted and non-adjusted price targets.
Point-in-Time Ratings by Symbol Retrieve a snapshot of every analyst's most recent recommendation on a given ticker as of any historical date - one record per analyst. Designed for backtesting, auditing, and research workflows that demand precision.
Point-in-Time Ratings by Analyst The inverse view: pull a single analyst's latest recommendation across every symbol they covered as of a chosen date. Ideal for analyst-centric research tools and portfolio attribution.
Ratings Summary by Symbol Aggregate Buy/Hold/Sell counts and analyst actions for any ticker over a configurable date window. The foundation for consensus displays, sentiment scores, and rating trend visualizations.
Ratings Summary by Analyst The same aggregated view from the analyst's perspective - total recommendations and a breakdown by type and action over any time period.
Ratings Summary by Firm Firm-level aggregation of all analyst recommendations and actions at a given brokerage over a date window. Useful for understanding directional bias and firm-level conviction.
Analyst Directory Lookup Search analysts by name and retrieve identifiers, firm affiliations, profile images, star ratings, success rates, excess returns, and recommendation counts - the building block for any analyst directory or leaderboard feature.
Who This Is For
This dataset is built for developers and self-directed investors who want professional-quality analyst coverage as a reliable data layer:
- Individual investors and retail platforms surfacing analyst ratings and price targets alongside market data
- App builders powering stock screeners, sentiment dashboards, and recommendation feeds
- Independent researchers tracking analyst accuracy, price target trends, and coverage changes
- Financial analysts and advisors benchmarking coverage quality and tracking price target momentum
