  • The company reported strong first-quarter revenues of $1.39 billion and earnings of $0.36 per share, significantly beating analyst estimates.

Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. (NASDAQ:TTWO) is a major video game publisher known for popular franchises like Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption. The company develops and distributes interactive entertainment for consoles, PCs, and mobile devices. It operates in a competitive industry alongside other giants such as Electronic Arts and Activision Blizzard.

Following recent performance, Roth Capital raised its price target on Take-Two to $300. At the time of the announcement, the stock was trading at $246.50, which means the new target suggests a potential price increase of 21.7%. This positive outlook is supported by the company's recent financial results and future projects.

The company's first-quarter earnings report showed strong performance, with revenues of $1.39 billion outperforming analyst estimates. As highlighted by Zacks Investment Research, Take-Two posted earnings of $0.36 per share, which was a 16.13% surprise above the consensus estimate of $0.31 per share. This continues a trend of beating expectations for the last four quarters.

A primary driver for investor optimism is the upcoming launch of Grand Theft Auto VI. Take-Two notes "unprecedented" preorder demand for the highly anticipated title. As noted by Bloomberg's Jason Schreier, developer Rockstar plans to reveal an extended gameplay preview before the game's November release, building significant excitement.

Despite strong quarterly results, the company's full-year guidance is more cautious and falls short of Wall Street's expectations. Take-Two projects full-year revenue between $7.9 billion and $8.1 billion, below the $8.51 billion analysts had forecast. Net income guidance is also significantly lower than prior estimates.
